A new season beckons on the murky horizon. New signings bid to etch their name in Ipswich Town folklore. A chorus of passionate fans follow their club across Europe, in hope of seeing silverware lifted by their beloved blues... Or... The Town players are back on Monday, let's have a look at how they're shaping up for the new season.
In this blog, I will be looking specifically at Town's new goalkeeping addition, Tomas Holy; the pro's, the con's, his role in the side and an overall conclusion as to whether he will be a key part in Town's promotion bid.
After the recent retained and release lists were announced by Championship clubs, every free-agent under the sun was batted around with a possible move to Suffolk. Frustrating, right? Well, unfortunately, I'm going to add to the unofficial rumour-mill by supplying FIVE potential names that could move to Town for a staggering fee of absolutely nothing.
In this blog, we will be looking at three more potential targets for Paul Lambert, all featuring within weak areas of Town's current squad. As previously stated, these may not be the most feasible options I have suggested. However, for the sake of meeting a brief and looking at some more experienced heads, these are the best that I could find.
In the previous three transfer blogs, we have searched the English leagues for talent that could aid Town's promotion bid next season. But not this week. Instead, we will be looking to Scotland, a place Paul Lambert knows well, to assess the talent that could make the move to Suffolk in the Summer.
In my opinion, there are three key areas in the Town squad that need to be strengthened heading into next season: central defence, wingers and strikers. In this blog, I'm going to take a look at three additions, from each of those positions, that Town could make to bolster their unbalanced squad.

Town boss Paul Lambert has hinted that Town will make a few additions, with departures likely; both in the shape of contracts and loans expiring. Lambert has already informed us that Town will be operating in the loan market (with only a couple of loans likely), as well as strengthening through bosman transfers (free transfers).
